Kia has officially pulled the wraps off the 2025 EV3, a compact electric SUV that blends futuristic design, advanced technology, and impressive performance — all at a starting price under $50,000. With this release, Kia is aiming to make electric mobility more accessible without compromising on quality or innovation.
Striking Design That Commands Attention
The EV3 inherits styling cues from its larger sibling, the EV9, with a bold two-box silhouette and strong SUV proportions. At the front, it features Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Face’ grille framed by a new ‘Star Map’ LED light signature. Clean lines and sculpted panels give it a modern yet muscular look, while flared wheel arches and distinctive creases across the body add to its robust stance.
A slightly sloping roofline improves aerodynamics, and the rear end is punctuated by a sleek spoiler and vertically aligned tail lights. Unique aero-optimized wheels with block-like patterns further enhance its futuristic appeal.
High-Tech and Spacious Interior
Step inside, and you’re greeted by a cabin that mirrors the premium feel of Kia’s flagship EV9. The dashboard is dominated by a wide-screen layout featuring two 12.3-inch displays and a 5-inch climate control panel. Touch-sensitive buttons, hidden air vents, and sustainable materials create a clean, modern environment.
Kia has prioritized comfort and practicality. A floating center console includes storage space and cup holders, and the front seats even feature a “relaxation mode” for when you’re charging on the go. The flat floor and smart packaging ensure plenty of legroom and cargo capacity despite the EV3’s compact footprint.
Performance and Range
Built on Kia’s E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), the EV3 will be offered with two battery configurations: a 58.3kWh standard pack and a larger 81.4kWh long-range version. Both use a single front-mounted electric motor generating 201 horsepower and 283Nm of torque. This setup propels the EV3 from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 170 km/h.
The long-range version is expected to offer up to 600 km of driving range on the WLTP cycle, making it ideal for both city commutes and longer road trips. Thanks to its 400V architecture, fast charging from 10% to 80% takes around 31 minutes.
Smart Features and AI Integration
The EV3 comes packed with cutting-edge tech. A 12-inch head-up display, configurable ambient lighting, and a premium Harman Kardon sound system elevate the in-cabin experience. It also debuts Kia’s new personal AI assistant, which allows drivers to control vehicle settings, navigation, and entertainment using natural voice commands.
A full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) ensures safety and convenience, offering features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
Availability and Launch Timeline
Kia will begin rolling out the EV3 in South Korea by June 2024, followed by a European launch in late 2024. Other markets, including select Asian regions and potentially North America, are expected to see the EV3 arrive by early 2025. While pricing starts below $50,000, final market-specific costs and trim levels will be announced closer to launch.
